Vice President of Procurement (Data Centers)

Petrogate is supporting a well-funded data center developer as they scale across the U.S. They’re hiring a senior procurement leader (Director to VP level) to build and lead procurement strategy across mission-critical MEP packages and Long-Lead Equipment (LLE/OFCI) for multiple sites.

This is a high-impact role with genuine autonomy and pace — ideal for someone who can protect schedule, control cost, and build a supplier ecosystem that scales.

The Role

You will own end-to-end procurement for data center delivery, with particular focus on MEP and long-lead equipment that drives program timelines (e.g., switchgear, UPS, generators, chillers, transformers, PDUs, etc.). You’ll partner closely with Construction/Development, Engineering, Finance, and key vendors/OEMs to ensure reliable supply, performance, and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement strategy for U.S. data center builds across electrical and mechanical scopes (MEP).

  • Own procurement planning and execution for Long-Lead Equipment / OFCI — from demand planning through award, expediting, logistics, and site handover.

  • Build a scalable vendor ecosystem: preferred suppliers, frameworks, SLAs, performance scorecards, and risk mitigation plans.

  • Negotiate commercial terms directly with OEMs and strategic vendors (pricing, lead times, service, warranties, and delivery commitments).

  • Drive cost discipline and schedule protection through benchmarking, market intelligence, and proactive procurement roadmapping.

  • Establish efficient procurement processes that enable speed of decision-making while improving visibility and governance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven senior procurement leadership within data centers / mission-critical construction.

  • Strong track record across MEP procurement and long-lead equipment categories.

  • Experience managing high-value vendor/OEM relationships and negotiating complex commercial agreements.

  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced build environments with multiple stakeholders and time-sensitive decisions.

  • Willingness to travel regularly to U.S. sites; must be based in Central or Eastern U.S. (West Coast excluded).

Compensation

Executive-level package expected (indicative range discussed: $300k–$500k total compensation, dependent on level and scope). Final structure will be aligned to market and experience.

How to Apply

If you have led procurement for mission-critical builds and can own MEP + long-lead equipment at program scale, we’d like to speak with you.
