Executive Delivery Leader (DC Construction Background)
We’re supporting a rapidly scaling mission-critical data centerplatform expanding U.S. They are hiring an SVP, Projects to “steer the ship” across a multi-state portfolio — setting the delivery system, building the org, and driving predictable execution at scale.
This is an executive leadership seat. You must have deep data center construction delivery roots, but you’ll now operate at portfolio/board level: standards, governance, vendor strategy, and org performance.
Location / Travel
U.S.-based; remote
Travel typically 30–50% (portfolio needs)
What you’ll lead
Own portfolio-wide delivery across multiple campuses/projects, from precon through turnover readiness
Build the delivery organisation: hiring/leading Directors, Principal CMs, PMO/controls, procurement interface
Establish delivery governance: KPIs, reporting cadence, risk controls, change governance, executive escalation
Set contractor strategy: GC/CM selection framework, partner performance management, standard contract approach
Create repeatable delivery playbooks: scope packaging, long-lead strategy, schedule risk mitigation, commissioning readiness gates
Drive cross-functional alignment with design/engineering, procurement, legal, commissioning, operations, and utilities/AHJs
Own outcomes: schedule certainty, cost discipline, safety culture, quality, and operational readiness
Must-have qualifications
15–20+ years in large-scale construction delivery, with 10+ years leading senior teams/programs
Proven leadership delivering data center / mission-critical builds (hyperscale strongly preferred)
Track record operating at executive level (VP/SVP/Head of Projects/Head of Construction)
Strong commercial and governance capability (budgets, forecasting, change, claims posture, partner performance)
Ability to scale a delivery org in a fast-growth environment
Preferred
Multi-campus / multi-state portfolio experience
Background from hyperscalers, DC developers, or top-tier DC GCs/CMs
Strong commissioning/turnover governance exposure (readiness discipline, not “hands-on commissioning”)
