Petrogate is supporting an Oil and Gas client in Basra, Iraq in their search for a Senior Workover Engineer on a 28/28 Rotation.
Role overview
Lead planning and execution support for workovers/interventions (program design, contractor coordination, well integrity and safety), with strong daily reporting and cost/NPT focus.
Key responsibilities
Build/work programs: well kill strategy, barriers, equipment selection, risk assessments.
Coordinate service companies (WL/CT/pumping) and rig teams; manage look-ahead and logistics.
Track NPT, daily cost, lessons learned; drive operational improvements.
Ensure HSE, PTW, SIMOPS, and well integrity compliance.
Candidate profile
8–12+ years in workover/well services; strong barrier management and field execution.
Basra experience a plus; English reporting required.
