Our client is a major data center developer/owner expanding AI-ready capacity in Texas. They need a Director of Construction who can run multiple phases in parallel and still deliver predictable turnover dates—even with today’s power/equipment constraints.
Role overview
Own end-to-end construction delivery for 50–150 MW phases (multi-building campuses). You’ll lead GC/trades, enforce readiness gates with Commissioning, and keep schedule/cost exposure visible and controlled.
Key responsibilities
Own field execution from siteworks to TCO; manage parallel workfronts across CSA + MEP.
Drive schedules (L1–L4), 3–6 week look-aheads, recovery planning, and constraint burn-down.
Lead quality discipline (ITPs, mockups, NCR/punch burn-down, turnover dossiers).
Interface tightly with Power Delivery (substation/MV) and Commissioning (L1–L5/IST).
Govern commercial hygiene: GMP discipline, COs/EOTs, claims avoidance, vendor performance.
Executive reporting: MW-to-plan, critical path, risk heatmap, “decisions needed” log.
Candidate profile
12–15+ years mission-critical/industrial; multiple DC phases delivered to TCO.
Strong MEP sequencing knowledge; proven GC/trade leadership at speed.
Comfortable with supply chain realities (transformers/switchgear) and energization dependencies.
Comp (guide): $190k–$260k base + bonus (+/- equity), full benefits, relocation.
