Commissioning Engineer – Instrumentation & Electrical (Oil & Gas Projects)

We are representing a major EPC contractor in the UAE seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join a high-performing team on a large-scale upstream oil & gas project. The ideal candidate will have strong field expertise across instrumentation and electrical systems, with full-cycle involvement from engineering through to commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
Support commissioning and start-up activities, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards.
Review and interpret project documentation including P&IDs, IO lists, loop diagrams, datasheets, and control philosophies.
Manage field activities including loop checks, calibration, SCADA/PLC testing, F&G systems, ELV, CCTV, and interposing relay panels.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth handover and integration.
Maintain and submit all required commissioning documentation such as checklists, loop folders, and red markups.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
Minimum 8 years of commissioning experience in the oil & gas sector, ideally on ADNOC projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, safety standards, and testing protocols.
Hands-on experience with SCADA, control panels, field devices, and instrumentation validation.
Proficient in using testing and calibration tools.
Willing to work in demanding outdoor site conditions.
