Job Title: Procurement Team Lead – Oil & Gas Operations

Location: Kurdistan Region of Iraq (with travel to operational sites as needed)


Position Overview:

Our client, a key player in oil and gas operations, is seeking a Procurement Team Lead rotating into Kurdistan to oversee all procurement activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies. This role involves managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, leading a team, and liaising with legal and operational departments to facilitate effective procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage procurement activities to support company operations, ensuring adherence to local and internal regulations.

  • Oversee the entire tendering cycle from pre-qualification to final delivery, including warranty resolutions.

  • Establish and negotiate long-term agreements with suppliers to optimize savings and operational efficiency.

  • Coordinate with other departments for tenders and evaluations and ensure thorough documentation for audit purposes.

  • Develop and monitor KPIs for procurement performance and report on department activities.

  • Promote the use of local suppliers and implement cost-saving strategies across procurement processes.

  • Provide clear processes for requisition through contract close-out and manage the resolution of contractual disputes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in procurement management within the oil and gas sector, with Middle East experience preferred.

  • Proven expertise in negotiating supplier agreements and handling all stages of the procurement lifecycle.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively.

  • Excellent commercial and legal acumen.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong analytical capabilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
