Our client is a fast-growing DC developer/operator expanding across the UK. They’re hiring a Grid & Power Connections Lead to win scarce capacity, steer 33–275 kV interconnects, and hit energization dates for multi-site builds.
Role snapshot
Own the end-to-end utility interface—studies, queue positions, substation delivery, and milestones to TCO—while standardising a repeatable playbook for future sites.
What you’ll do
Secure transmission/distribution capacity (connection offers, feasibility studies, queue management).
Lead substation scope from siting and consents through EPC delivery, testing, and energization.
Coordinate power-up sequencing to Cx/IST with Construction & Commissioning; manage temporary power.
Negotiate technical/commercial terms with utilities and vendors; manage easements/permits.
Publish exec dashboards on MW-to-plan, risks, and critical decisions.
You bring
8–12+ yrs in T&D/mission-critical; proven grid connection wins and substation delivery in the UK.
Solid grasp of protection, earthing, and HV safety; confident with DNO/TO processes.
Clear stakeholder comms; comfortable with COs/claims and program risk.
